In rural villages across Morocco and remote areas, the first steps toward learning often take place in the shadows. Preschool classrooms, crucial for early childhood development, frequently lack electricity. Without light, warmth in winter, or access to basic educational tools, learning can become a challenge rather than a pathway forward.

To change this reality, TAQA Morocco for Community launched Shourouk, a program whose name evokes the dawn and the promise of a new day.

SHOUROUK Program Overview

Shourouk equips preschool classrooms in rural areas with solar panels, ensuring that every child aged 4 to 6 can learn in bright, safe, and welcoming spaces.

The program’s impact goes beyond the classroom. Families and communities benefit through the promotion of environmental best practices and the fostering of a sustainability culture.

For unemployed youth aged 18–25, Shourouk opens new pathways: training in renewable energy maintenance, creating opportunities for inclusion and a promising future.

SHOUROUK

Shourouk is more than a project — it is the promise to bring energy where it truly transforms lives. By addressing three Sustainable Development Goals, the program delivers measurable impact in education, community development, and youth empowerment.
