Committed to supporting Morocco’s transition toward a low-carbon energy model, TAQA Morocco is strengthening its flexible and clean power generation capabilities through the development of new Combined Cycle Gas Turbine (CCGT) plants.
These projects align with our strategy to diversify the energy mix and support the gradual integration of low-carbon energy into the national grid.
n partnership with Nareva and the Mohammed VI Fund for Investment, TAQA Morocco is integrating the 400 MW Tahaddart gas-fired plant into its strategic portfolio, with a focus on enhancing its performance and reliability. This strategic integration goes hand in hand with the development of 1,100 to1,400 MW of new CCGT capacities to strengthen the stability and flexibility of Morocco’s power grid.
CCGT technology ensures more efficient use of natural gas by combining gas and steam cycles, resulting in higher overall efficiency. This approach delivers reliable, competitive, and lower-carbon power generation to meet the growing national demand for clean, stable and continuous energy.
Through these projects, TAQA Morocco actively contributes to strengthening the Kingdom’s energy sovereignty and advancing the transition toward a low-carbon model, while consolidating its position as a leading industrial player in the energy and water sectors.
