TAQA Morocco for Community launches the Water Challenge

On the occasion of World Environment Day, TAQA Morocco for Community is officially launching its Call for Expressions of Interest (CEI) “Innovation for Sustainable and Responsible Water Management.”

This program is fully aligned with TAQA Morocco’s ESG strategy. It aims to encourage the emergence of innovative solutions capable of addressing challenges related to water access, water treatment, and the sustainable management of water resources, particularly in rural areas.

Submitted projects must address one of the following priority challenges: securing access to drinking water in vulnerable areas, improving water treatment and quality, or optimizing water resource management through water-saving, recycling, or treated wastewater reuse solutions. Solutions leveraging digital technologies, data, connected sensors, or artificial intelligence will be particularly valued.

The call is open to Moroccan start-ups, as well as student researchers, PhD candidates, and early-career researchers from universities and research centers. Individual and team applications are accepted.

Winners in the Start-up Award and Research Award categories will benefit from a total prize fund of MAD 300,000, including an invitation to the 2027 World Water Forum in Riyadh, a laptop computer, and material support designed to sustain the development of their solutions.

Applications are open until the end of August 2026. Selected projects will be rewarded during the awards ceremony scheduled for December 4, 2026.
